Each time a major disclosure was rejected for publishing by all journals in the
world, it was padded out with roughage, and turned into a book. This is one
reason for each of the four books. (Actually, all content was rejected for
publication by all learned journals in the world.) The other reason is that the
course notes for the private seminars on digital hardware design by Catt et al.
were accumulated into DEC vols 1 and 2. The distinction between (hod-carrying)
digital design and (arcane) e-m theory is not clear in these four volumes.
